See first-hand how New Zealand must have been over 100 years ago. En route to Kapiti Island, pass through Kapiti Marine Reserve and watch for passing whales and dolphins. Lookout for the sea birds that frequent the coastal waters - gulls, gannets, penguins, terns, shags, shearwaters and albatross.

On this 5-day adventure, you'll travel by train, boat, tram, cable-car and plane! We enjoy a full day on Kapiti Island, explore the windy corridors of Wellington’s Te Papa and Parliament, and we'll visit some iconic and fascinating destinations in-between.

Itinerary  |  6-10 March 2021

This morning we depart Auckland bound for Paraparumu on the Northern Explorer. Travelling through beautiful Aotearoa, over five geographical regions of the North Island and ascending up the world famous Raurimu Spiral – we’ll see parts of the island we don’t see from the highway! We disembark at Paraparaumu and transfer to our Raumati beach-side accommodation on the Kapiti Coast – our home for the next 4 nights.

  • DAY 2. Kapiti Island

This morning we drive along the coast road from Raumati Beach to Paraparaumu beach, where we board our boat for Kapiti Island – one of NZ’s oldest and most important nature reserves. All good things must come to an end as we say farewell to the beautiful Kapiti coast.

We then enjoy the Botanical Gardens including Lady Norwood Rose Garden which in March, will be spectacular. This is our lunch stop before we head to the airport for our flight home.

As you head home after a few days of travel by train, boat, tram, cable-car and plane, we trust your heart and camera will be full of wonderful memories and that when you travel with Seemore tours, you’ll see more, eat more and have more fun!
